Production Scheduler

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Production Scheduler at our Sunshine Site. This is a key role within our supply chain /planning team, responsible for developing and managing the master production plan for specified product categories. Reporting to the IBP Manager, the Production Scheduler will utilise sales forecasts, business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints to create and execute production plans for a rolling 2-month period.

Your areas of responsibility:

  • Develop a rolling Master Production Plan using sales forecasts, historical sales data, and new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to execute plans and schedules, ensuring on-time deliveries.
  • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan, identify gaps, and implement solutions.
  • Identify and analyse risks related to the production schedule, including material constraints, manpower availability, and equipment utilisation.
  • Lead and support improvement initiatives, including the implementation of S4 Hana and new scheduling platforms.
  • Work with relevant teams to reduce quarantine through reworking or other means as directed by R&D/QC.
  • Manage schedule changes and coordinate with manufacturing to ensure accurate material and resource demand.
  • Identify demand levels and create tactical production scheduling plans to meet backlog commitments.
  • Support new product development through cooperative scheduling of product introductions, end-of-life runout, and plant trials.
  • Participate in operations planning meetings to align with the Demand Planner, Procurement Team, and customer demand.

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in planning within a complex manufacturing environment with 1000+ SKUs and multiple manufacturing work centres.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ERP systems principles, concepts, and industry standards.
  • Exposure to operational excellence, SOP, and/or IBP is well regarded.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in SAP environment (APICS-CPIM certification is a plus).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve data anomalies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation for both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement continuous improvement processes.
