Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Salary:

FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.

 

Your Responsibilities:

The Production Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and plays a crucial role in overseeing the production activities on the 3rd shift, 2 PM – 10:30 PM, at the Kansas City facility. This includes but not limited to performing all production task, monitoring employee schedules, workloads, and daily plant production reporting back to the Operations Manager. The Production Supervisor is responsible for job floor activities and ensuring departmental Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Efficiency goals are met using best practices.  This individual ensures an environment of accountability within the Production Operators with support from the Operations Manager.

 

  • Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly activities in the plant. This includes but not limited to, daily overtime and appropriate scheduling for weekend coverage of Production Operators on 2nd shift.
  • Assist in scheduling production orders and ensure that production schedules are met
  • Directing manufacturing employees in the production of batches and filling containers in all production areas.
  • Monitor performance against goals established by the Operations Manager.
  • Supervise employees to ensure compliance with Company Safety & Environmental Policies, housekeeping/ 6S programs, and SOPs/ Quality requirements.
  • Supervises and manages Production Operator training including but not limited to Safety Training and Job Skills training.
  • Working within SAP to maintain accurate inventory and batch tracking
  • Audit and correct SAP movements with the process, specifically with the review of completed process orders.

 

  • Manage/control job floor and warehouse material inventory utilizing employees to conduct cycle counts.
  • Conducting daily and weekly shift meetings regarding safety and production goals.
  • Manage basic maintenance of equipment and facility working with maintenance, process engineers, leads, Operations Manager and the Engineering team.
  • Ensure completion of all required maintenance impacting production.
  • Interfacing closely with the laboratory to ensure maximum efficiency and problem resolution.
  • Supporting all company policies regarding safety, quality, housekeeping, inventory management, etc.
  • Notifying appropriate personnel (and outside agencies if necessary) of any events which require outside support or notification.
  • Assisting as needed with employee training.
  • Conduct employee reviews utilizing Performance Management which includes work performance, strengths and weaknesses, etc. as necessary.
  • Filling in for absences with 1st and 3rd shift supervisors
  • Additional job activities as directed by the Grease Operations Manager.

 

Supervisory responsibility:

  • This position will have 3-5 direct reports.

 

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • High school diploma required. College degree in a technical or business field (Chemistry, Engineering, Operations, etc.) desired.
  • 5+ years of experience within a batch manufacturing environment required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role desired.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure appropriate flow of information.
  • Promotes a harassment-free environment.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships; demonstrates a commitment to teamwork.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries, and/or complaints.
  • SAP experience desired.
