Business Development Manager FOOD Segment EMEA (m/f/d) at the next possible point of time | Kaiserslautern

What you are responsible for:

  • Initiator of the regional FOOD business strategy, providing leadership, support and oversight of local growth opportunities to increase our market share and ensuring its systematic execution together with the Vice President Sales EMEA and Head of Global Business Segment FOOD.
  • Develop country specific business strategies and business plans in coordination with the Head of Global Business Segment FOOD as well as local business and sales management.
  • Drive sales and profit growth and identify new business opportunities, new applications and potential customer target groups in collaboration with the Global FOOD team for implementation with local sales teams. In this context, coordinate stakeholders and cross-functional teams to enable disproportionate profitable growth.
  • Define key target customers and participate in their customer acquisition plan together with Global Key Account Managers. Participate in developing relationships with selected target customers, OEMs, component suppliers and other important key stakeholders. Main representative of FUCHS at relevant associations, important exhibitions, symposia etc. in the FOOD segment within the economic EMEA region.
  • Expanding and securing our business by contributing to OEM approvals, application recommendations, expanding existing market and service know-how together with the global FOOD network and relevant departments.
  • Responsible main contact person or project manager within FUCHS LUBRICANTS GERMANY for the implementation of global customer projects as a cross-functional role throughout all functional areas.
  • Identify market trends and competitive activities together with the FOOD team in the region to determine key initiatives needed.
  • Contribute to the segment specific marketing offering (e.g. best practice case studies) and the development of key messages to support communication between countries, global networks and different functional areas (Play Book).
  • Transfer market specific knowledge to local sales organizations in all technical and commercial aspects. Provide market specific sales support including technical training and roll-out packages.


What qualifies You:

  • Professional experience as a Business Development Manager or similar sales role. At least three years proven track record, preferably in lubricant sales or comparable industry and/or food industry market knowledge.
  • High level of market affinity and expertise in active customer-focused selling and closing skills to meet sales targets.
  • Technical understanding of key processes in the food industry to align existing customer requirements through effective product and service solutions.
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate technical and non-technical information to customers and other departments.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Very good English skills are required, and good German skills are desirable, as the entire supply chain and all key functional areas are located in Kaiserslautern.
  • Excellent organizational skills (priority and goal setting as well as monitoring of projects and KPIs)
  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), SAP R3, SAC
  • High willingness to travel to domestic and international destinations (EMEA region)
  • Intercultural competence
