Product Safety Specialist

Location: İzmir

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Preferably at least 2 years of experience in petrochemical sector,
  • At least Upper-Intermediate level of English,
  • Experience with lubricants and additives,
  • Experience with SAP system,
  • Good communication and analytical skills,
  • Good command of MS Office programs.

Resident in İzmir. Position will be based in İzmir Aliağa Plant.

Your areas of responsibility:

  • Ensure assigned tasks are completed effectively and in line with company interests.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of systems for Chemicals and Product Safety compliance with national/international standards and legal requirements.
  • Maintain collaboration with teams on chemical and product safety matters.
  • Manage product safety documentation and compliance, including:
  • Preparation and updating of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Monitoring classification and labeling requirements (SEA_CLP).
  • Overseeing transport requirements (ADR).
  • Ensuring compliance with registration, authorization, and restriction requirements (KKDİK/REACH).
  • Handling legal notifications (SEVESO, CLP, ADR).
  • Managing permits for special chemicals (e.g., biocides).
  • Verifying product content compliance before market release.
  • Prepare product safety notifications for customer-specific requests.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Procurement to ensure raw material compliance.
  • Support Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 14064-1) in product safety aspects.
  • Record and document all work carried out on all equipment on both paper and electronic systems,
  • Analysis of issues to root cause and development of countermeasures, improvement actions and/or suggestions to improve,
  • Identify energy savings opportunities and make recommendations to achieve more energy efficient operation,
  • Work with the team and other department members to produce effective maintenance strategies,
  • Prepare technical specifications if necessary,
  • Reports to the management with the systematic documentation of the work done.
