Salary:
FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as inter-nal equity.
Your Responsibilities:
The Production Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager – Huntington and plays a crucial role in overseeing the production activities on Huntington first shift operations. This includes monitoring employee schedules, workloads, and daily plant production. The Production Supervisor is responsible for job floor activities and ensuring departmental Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Efficiency goals are met using best practices. This individual ensures an environment of accountability within the Operators on 1st shift with support from the Operations Manager. The Production Supervisor, Lab Manager will also be responsible for the Quality Control testing lab located at the Huntington Facility. This will include staff training and updating training records, instrument cali-bration and documentation, projects involving the lab area,
Specifically, the Production Supervisor, Lab Manager will:
- Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly dayshift activities of the Huntington Site. This includes, but is not limited to, daily overtime and appropriate scheduling for weekend coverage of Operators on 1st shift and all Lab Technicians.
- Direct operators in the production of batches, filling of containers, and leading inventory management efforts.
- Assist in scheduling of production orders and ensure that production schedules are met.
- Monitor performance against goals and conduct employee reviews including work performance, strengths, and weak-nesses, etc. as necessary.
- Supervise employees to ensure compliance to Company Safety & Environmental Policies, housekeeping/ 6S programs, and SOPs/ Quality requirements.
- Conducts audits of Plant and QC lab processes
- Support plant certification initiatives.
- Supervises and manages Operator training including but not limited to Safety Training and Job Skills training.
- Abiding the Union Contract Agreement for operators
- Represent FUCHS professionally when interacting with all employees and internal and external customers.
- Act as main MFG shift contact for updates on progress of batches for other business areas.
- Manage/control job floor and warehouse material inventory utilizing employees to conduct cycle counts.
- Develop Kanban levels for items needed in manufacturing to prevent loss of manufacturing time. Including parts and supplies.
- Utilizes company IT equipment such as SAP & Microsoft Office to monitor department processes, leads, operator per-formance, audit analysis, and additional activities as required.
- Conduct employee safety/communication/preshift meetings as required.
- Audit and correct SAP movements with the process, specifically with the review of completed process orders.
- Managing laboratory to ensure maximum efficiency and problem resolution.
- Supervises the completion of Orders in each phase of the manufacturing process.
- Support coverage for absences of peers and direct where applicable.
- Ability to work with R&D to lead batch process improvements, batch corrections, inventory disposition management.
- Additional tasks will be provided by the operations manager.
Supervisory responsibility:
- Directly supervises employees on the 1st shift.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- College degree in a technical (Chemistry, Engineering, Operations, etc.) required.
- 5+ years of experience within a batch manufacturing environment desired
- 3+ years of experience in a lab setting desired.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office desired.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure appropriate flow of information.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships; demonstrates a commitment to teamwork.
- SAP experience desired.
- Experience with ISO/TS/ IATF desired.
- Lean manufacturing/ continuous improvement/ 6S experience desired.
