The Technical Service Technician reports to the Technical Service Director and is responsible for physical testing, documentation and report generation of technical service samples for individual customer systems.


The successful candidate will:

  • Use established methods to perform routine analyses on in-use customer submitted samples;
  • Maintain acceptable turnaround times (as established by the Technical Service Director) for routine analyses.
  • Perform testing on other samples as appropriate
  • Maintain equipment and properly standardizes/calibrates instrumentation;
  • Enter test data proficiently and accurately
  • Prepare laboratory reagents;
  • Assist with weekly inventory of supplies;
  • Participate in general housekeeping including routine cleaning and maintenance; and performs other duties as requested by management




  • The successful candidate will possess a four-year degree in a science field; Chemistry is preferred, but Biology, Physics, etc. will also be considered.
  • 5+ years of industrial laboratory experience will be considered in lieu of a four-year degree.
  • Experience with XRF, FTIR, viscosity, titrations (manual and/or automatic), Karl Fischer, flash point measurements is a plus
  • Microsoft applications experience (Excel, Access, Word, Outlook) is preferred.
  • SAP computer system a plus.
  • The ideal applicant will work well in a fast-paced environment and will be able to handle stressful situations in a constructive manner
  • Excellent verbal and good written communication skills are required
  • The ideal applicant will be comfortable working as part of a team
