THE POSITION

We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative finance professional to join our Americas team. This role serves as a critical link between regional finance teams and the global headquarters in Germany, ensuring transparency, consistency, and strategic alignment in financial reporting, analysis, and planning. This individual will provide meaningful insights, support process improvement initiatives, and help drive performance across the Americas region. This position is based in Harvey, IL with a hybrid in office schedule. The role will report to the VP of Accounting and Finance.

 

SALARY RANGE:

FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $155,000 per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity. 

 

Your responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

 

  • Act as the primary liaison between Americas Finance teams and Corporate Headquarters in Germany, ensuring alignment with reporting and financial strategies.
  • Analyze and review regional financial statements, capital expenditures, and net working capital reports to corporate, highlighting key variances and drivers vs. budget and forecast.
  • Reconcile and report on intercompany transactions and regional balance sheet positions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare monthly executive business reviews for Americas Leadership, delivering actionable insights and highlighting risks and opportunities relative to financial targets.
  • Assist subsidiaries with budget and forecast submissions, including templates, reporting tools, and preparation of commentary. Provide strategic input to help mitigate risks and achieve financial goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement in regional controlling and reporting tools, working closely with Global Group Controlling.
  • Support the enhancement of financial and operational processes across the region to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Actively contribute to Group Finance meetings by offering recommendations to improve global reporting processes and tools.
  • Lead or participate in region-specific finance projects and initiatives, supporting business transformation and strategic priorities; includes global SAP S4 HANA roll out.
  • Coordinate sustainability and energy reporting within the Americas for submission to Corporate Team.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as required.

 

 

 

 

Qualifications we are looking for:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Finance/Accounting is strongly preferred, but other degrees with demonstrated accounting and/or controlling proficiency will be considered.
  • Deep understanding of group consolidation and international finance topics such as IFRS/US-GAAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP formulas, create/manipulate tables, etc.
  • Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as natural leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

 

Preferred

  • S4/HANA experience strongly preferred.
  • US CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years finance experience with responsibilities similar to those listed above, ideally in a manufacturing organization with international subsidiaries.
  • Intercultural communication skills to coordinate people and processes across both the North and South American regions as well as counterparts in other World regions.
  • Foreign language skills, Spanish preferred.
  • Willingness to travel throughout North and South America, as needed, to support business needs.
