Your responsibilities:

The Key Account and Business Development Manager is responsible for Industrial accounts, and reports to and collaborates with the Director of Key Accounts and Business Development. The Key Account and Business Development Manager proactively manages the business with select Key Accounts and commits to increase sales to these accounts as well as new accounts. Furthermore, the Key Account and Business Development Manager:


  • Proactively develops business opportunities with existing and, especially, new key accounts.
  • Operates in a global network to support local Key Account Managers and to establish close relationships with the Key Accounts.
  • Coordinates business both regionally and globally as an interface between the Key Account and Fuchs stakeholders, such as Product Management, Research and Development, Administration, Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, Logistics, and Marketing.
  • Sets prices and negotiates terms and conditions.
  • Spends most of their time visiting customers, following up on current projects, and searching for new opportunities.
  • Has extensive knowledge of the Key Account’s worldwide activities, product portfolio, and applications.
  • Represents customer interests towards Fuchs and vice versa.
  • Identifies risks and solves conflicts.
  • Is familiar with Fuchs’ Industrial related product portfolio and its applications.
  • Cooperates closely with Product Management to ensure that the customer is fully educated regarding products and related technical applications.
  • Observes international markets and trends.



  • Up to 50% travel primarily within the US in addition to Canada and Mexico depending upon business needs.



Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Technical knowledge of automotive applications preferred; experience with lubricants/specialty chemicals is a plus.
  • Proven experience in initiating, managing, and closing sales processes with OEM & Tier customers.
  • Independent, highly motivated person.
  • Track record of securing new accounts and relating with new customers.
  • Supplementary knowledge in finance, marketing, and management.
  • Prior experience in a similar sales and key account management position preferred.
  • Possesses high level consultative selling abilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to hold high level negotiations and willing to work under pressure.
  • Strategic vision and planning.
  • Proactive and goal oriented.
  • Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in use of MS-Office applications and CRM (Salesforce desired).
