What You Can Expect
The Sr. Technician - R&D Automotive OEM (Driveline, Shock & E-Mobility) will support the OEM Fluids Sr. Scientist through making and testing formulations. In your role, you will have a significant impact on the success of Automotive OEM projects, and the whole business segment. Main tasks of this position are the following:
- Blend samples according to recipe and run several laboratory tests to confirm quality and performance.
- Prepare samples for shipment to our international customers.
- Run diverse laboratory tests to improve performance aspects of newly developed and existing automotive fluids.
- Document test results according to automotive quality standards.
- Maintain existing lab tests and establish new methods based on customer requirements or standardized methods.
- Work with operations when making larger samples for field trials and supervise first production batches for OEM products.
- Analyze customer samples and document results for review in cooperation with the Sr. Scientist as a response to possible customer complaints and to support our sales team in their customer communication
- Test new raw materials to evaluate their performance and discuss results with the Sr. Scientist.

WHAT WE EXPECT
- B.S. in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). B.S. in Chemistry preferred.
- At least one year of previous laboratory experience
- Excellent record keeping and documenting skills, e.g., able to keep a well-organized lab notebook.
- Strong problem solving, interpersonal, teamwork, lab work, and communication skills.
- Precision and high attention to detail.
- Able to conduct hands-on laboratory experiments and tests in an organized and safe manner.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be proficient with computers and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
- Familiarity with raw material databases and/or LIMS preferred.
- Stays up to date on current trends and technologies related to Fuchs‘ business.
- Experience in product development and product modifications is preferred.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001/ IATF 16949 environment strongly preferred.
