Your responsibilities:
FUCHS Corp is seeking a Director of Procurement who will be responsible for the overall direction and leadership related to the strategy, operational, financial, and personnel activities within the Procurement Department. This position reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain. Responsibilities include:
- Ensure that purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, and delivery targets
- Provide overall leadership and development to Procurement Department team
- Responsible for managing relationships and negotiating with key suppliers at a senior and strategic level
- Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders if appropriate
- Develop, implement, and maintain a supplier relationship evaluation process to measure effective supplier performance and compliance
- Prepare the annual Purchasing budget and aid in the forecasting of Capital Expenditure proposals
- Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the purchasing strategy
- Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on supply
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related degree is required.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) a plus.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in Purchasing & sourcing in a mid to large size organization.
- Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to allow for communicating effectively with all levels of employees both verbally and in writing
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office skills (MS Excel, MS, Word, MS PowerPoint), Procurement systems, ERP systems such as SAP a plus and advanced Excel skills including pivot tables.
- Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and the confidence to recommend improvements to Senior Leadership
