Your areas of responsibility:
The Chemical Operator converts raw materials into finished OEM greases via industrial equipment, including pressure reactors, distributed control system (DCS), pumps, flow meters, condensers, mills, filters and various sensors. The incumbent performs in-process and finished quality testing of raw materials and products using analytical lab equipment, including balances, ovens, titrators, gas chromatographs, viscometers, and microscopes. Additionally, the Chemical Operator:
- Completes related paperwork, reports, and support functions.
- Performs work in accordance with the production schedule provided by inventory planning.
- Completes production records and inventory transactions.
- Updates process documentation (batch sheets) as work processes are completed.
- Updates raw material inventory using computer software (SAP).
- Follows established production procedures and instructions.
- Follows quality and safety standards.
- Position requires flexible work schedule, including overtime and weekend hours.
- Entry level rates starting at $21 an hour. Experienced rates starting at $26 an hour
Qualifications we are looking for:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Technician certification or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years chemical manufacturing experience in a batch environment involving chemical reactions
- Fork Truck Certification
- HAZMAT training (Hazwoper, etc) or experience desirable, but not required
- Must be able to read and performs manufacturing work instructions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Maintains a strong attention to detail and accuracy when performing all aspects of the job
- Solid troubleshooting and decision-making skills
- Ability to perform basic computer functions
- Strong mechanical ability
- Computer skills such as SAP knowledge and Microsoft Office a plus
