Salary:
FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $155,000 - $165,000, as well as a competitive bonus plan, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.
Your Responsibilities:
The Business Development Manager of Basic Metals will report to our Director of Key Account and Business Development and will be tasked with driving the overall business strategy to grow Fuchs’s presence in the Basic Metals industry throughout the U.S. The BDM understands how the business operates as a whole and has a working knowledge across Marketing, Accounting, Strategic Management, Project Management, Business Planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Drive new business development calling at the corporate level of accounts while working collaboratively with the Sales Directors, Sales Managers, Sales Engineers, Application Engineer, Product Manager; and other key team members to establish priorities and achieve objectives.
- Conducting ongoing market research to strengthen industry expertise. Keeping abreast of market changes, recognizing emerging trends, and identifying market opportunities. This will include leading Fuchs’ industry segment strategies.
- Maintains and develops good working relationships with existing and new clients to enhance client retention and new sales.
- Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
- Selling, marketing and promoting all products and services offered by the company within the basic metals industry segment.
- Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of customer needs and requirements.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Demonstrating the benefits of the company’s product line to customers, ensuring the proper selection and application of product through on-site visits at steel mill facilities throughout the country.
- Representing the company in industry events and trade shows and collaborating with Marketing and other internal stakeholders to prepare for such events.
Travel
- Must be able to travel up to 75% throughout the U.S.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of the metals industry and adjacent industries.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high-level business development position.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal resources to resolve various equipment/lubricant related issues.
- Established internal and external network in the basic metals industry required.
- High level of personal drive and self-motivation with strong time management and prioritization skills.
- A passion for achieving business goals and sales targets.
- Ability to set day-to-day priorities within overall priority listing, working independently and as part of a team.
