Salary:

FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity. 

 

Your Responsibilities:

The Specialty Division supports a range of important niche markets including food, wind, mining, glass and forging with high performance greases and lubricants.  This important position will be responsible for business development activities targeting the U.S. food processing and other related industries, with specific focus on applications for food grade lubricants and white oils, as well as the OEM market.  Reporting to the Specialty Sales Manager, the Business Development Manager will define opportunities, develop strategies, and drive programs to expand market share, increase sales, and achieve profit goals in the target market.  Based from a home office near a major airport, or another major metropolitan area, approximately 50% national travel will be required. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Work collaboratively with the Sales Manager, Distribution Manager, and Product Manager; and partner with the global business team to establish priorities and achieve objectives. 
  • Conduct ongoing market research to strengthen industry expertise.  Keep abreast of market changes, recognize emerging trends, and identify market opportunities.
  • Manage the National Accounts Program for Food and related industries, which includes building relationships with the largest customers and developing corporate supply contracts, as well as matrix management of the individuals who are responsible for key accounts and target prospects.  
  • Support the sales team and distribution network with product training, marketing materials, and sales tools to enhance their ability to promote the company’s industry specific products and service capabilities. 
  • Plan and manage the company’s presence at industry events and trade shows, and act as the US Representative in the global Fuchs Good Grade Lubricants &White Oil Team.
  • Contribute to business planning and sales forecasting; and participate in special projects to support the immediate goals and long-term success of the business.

 

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • BS Engineering or Business with technical aptitude is desired, MBA a plus.  
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience that includes industrial sales, marketing, business development and/or product management with proven ability to develop business plans and sales strategies.  
  • Knowledge of food processing and/or food packaging is very important.  
  • Experience with oils, greases or technical MRO products is best, yet experience with coatings, adhesives, packaging materials, or related products is also applicable.   
  • This role requires broad business acumen, good strategic thinking skills, and an entrepreneurial mindset. 
  • We are looking for a dynamic communicator with excellent presentation skills and a customer-focused attitude.
