Salary Range:

The salary range for this role is between $120,000 - $140,000, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity.

 

Your Responsibilities: 

A highly motivated Business Development Manager is sought to drive growth within the Construction Materials market segment across North America, including wood processing, MDF, OSB, wood finishing, fiberglass, and related industries. This strategic role is responsible for developing and managing major key accounts, developing new business opportunities, and collaborating closely with the global Construction Materials team. The position will also design and implement service concepts and support customer applications to strengthen FUCHS’ market presence and expand market share in this global strategic segment. The Business Development Manager for the Global Business Segment Construction Materials will report to the Manager of Business Segments within the FUCHS Specialty Division. 

 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Drive growth of the Construction Materials segment in North America through direct sales, key account management, and new opportunity development 

  • Develop a strong understanding of customer processes and technical requirements across MDF, OSB, and related industries 

  • Build and manage strategic relationships with national key accounts/OEMs, supporting product testing, evaluation, and technical recommendations 

  • Manage existing accounts while proactively identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities with key accounts; ensure superior customer service and satisfaction 

  • Prepare proposals, technical documentation, and responses to tenders and customer inquiries 

  • Develop and deploy service concepts for the Construction Materials segment and work closely with the Field Service Team to ensure consistent service quality 

  • Provide on-site technical support, implement service concepts, and deliver lubrication and application training to key customers 

  • Support cross‑selling initiatives and collaborate closely with the FUCHS sales team and distributors to expand market penetration 

  • Train and support FUCHS sales team, distributor partners, and their representatives on Construction Materials processes, applications, and business development strategies 

  • Achieve sales targets, forecasts, and budget expectations while ensuring accurate reporting and pipeline management 

  • Represent FUCHS at industry events and tradeshows and coordinate with Marketing and internal stakeholders to ensure strong execution and visibility 

  • Support direct sales activities across the US and participate in corporate initiatives alongside FUCHS Specialty teams throughout the Americas 

  • Collaborate with teams in North America, South America, and global Segment Managers to expand international business opportunities. 

  • 50% of travel is required. Proximity to major airport required. 

 

Qualifications we are looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred 

  • 5+ years of B2B technical sales experience, ideally within specialty lubricants or a closely related industrial sector.  

  • Strong familiarity with the Construction Materials industry (MDF, OSB, engineered wood, fiberglass) is highly preferred. 

  • Proven success working with global OEMs and major key accounts.  

  • High level of personal drive, self‑motivation, and effective time‑management skills 

  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑centric approach. 

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills  

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, and to effectively manage a territory or region 

  • Experience using a CRM system; Salesforce experience preferred
