Salary Range:
FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and technically adept Sales Engineer / Key Account Manager to join our team. This hybrid role, reporting to the Senior Director, Specialty First Fill, requires a blend of technical aptitude, curiosity to uncover customer problems, along with strong organizational and project management skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving new business development, managing large key accounts, and providing technical solutions to our clients.
Your areas of responsibility:
Business Development:
- Proactively develop business opportunities with existing and new key accounts.
- Drive new business development by calling at the corporate and engineering levels of accounts.
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify market opportunities and maintain knowledge of competitors.
- Establish new business through referrals and identifying potential future customers via planned and organized sales calls.
Account Management:
- Develops clear customer strategies working closely with the Business Segment Leader and Regional VPs.
- Manage the business with selected key accounts, committing to increase sales to these accounts and new accounts.
- Operate in a global network to support local Key Account Managers and establish excellent contacts with key ac-counts.
- Coordinate the business of key accounts globally, acting as an interface between the key account and internal stakeholders (Product Management, R&D, Administration, Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, Logistics, and Marketing).
- Set prices and negotiate terms and conditions.
- Spend significant time visiting customers, following up on current projects, and searching for new opportunities.
- Develop alternative service concepts and value propositions for assigned key accounts.
Customer Engagement:
- Represent the company in regional industry events and tradeshows, collaborating with Marketing and other internal stakeholders to prepare for such events.
- Conduct onsite product training for clients through product presentations, hands-on interactions, and utilizing availa-ble product management team and field application engineers.
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of key accounts' worldwide activities, product portfolio, and applications.
- Represent customer interests towards the company and vice versa.
Travel: Approximately 40% travel, primarily within the U.S., with occasional international travel to Europe, Canada, and Mexico.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in sales, key account management, large account experience preferred.
- Technical knowledge of medical device applications, pharmaceuticals, and/or lubricants/specialty chemicals is a plus.
- Proven experience in initiating, managing, and closing sales processes.
- Strong consultative selling abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent decision-making and negotiation skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Strategic vision and planning capabilities.
- Proactive, goal-oriented, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team spirit and ability to work in international teams.
- Proficiency in MS-Office applications and CRM (Salesforce desired).
- Ability to travel frequently on short notice.
