Your Responsibilities:
The Process Engineer will be responsible for leading projects to improve manufacturing efficiency of our specialty lubricants/ compounds.
Responsibilities will include:
- Oversee major projects within the Manufacturing Engineering department.
- Advise other engineers within the department.
- Fill in for the manager when required.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication and materials as well as soliciting observations from technicians.
- Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements while researching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
- Assure product and process quality by designing and evaluating testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities.
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor and material costs and estimating future requirements.
- Scale pilot batches up into full production.
- Review and evaluate new process procedures and documentation.
- Aid in the qualification of new equipment and procedures.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
- Coordinate with the quality department to implement new products and procedures.
- Perform PFD’s (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&ID’s (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) for required equipment.
- Aid in batch costing operations.
- Provide on-the-job training to new and/or inexperienced employees.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science discipline.
- Minimum one year of experience in engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of engineering concepts and approaches
- Able to independently assimilate new technology and apply to work
- Ability to perform established experimental procedures to meet project goals
- Ability to use technical background to design variations on procedures to solve technical problems
- Lean and Six Sigma background is a plus
