Your responsibilities:

The position of Inside Technical Sales will play a fundamental role in achieving Nye’s ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. The individual must be comfortable making numerous calls per day, working with Prospects, Leads, Contacts, & Customers while coordinating with regional sales engineers, product support, marketing and customer service, generating interest, qualifying prospects and winning business. The individual must also be able to work with research from the Marketing Group to contact potential customers in assigned markets and applications for Nye products; generate qualified lead lists for follow-up; contact leads through various means of communication and follow up; while generating quotes & sample requests daily.

 

  • Lead Qualification/Management
    • Interface with incoming leads to vet “Contact Nye” inquiries
    • Identify accounts with potential to grow into large revenue accounts and prioritize work accordingly.
    • Route qualified leads to the appropriate Regional Engineering Managers/International Regional Engineering Managers for further development
    • Manage incoming web leads by responding to the customer request or assigning it to the appropriate Nye Regional Engineering Managers or International Regional Engineering Managers based on their regional territory
    • Determine and understand customer needs and requirements
    • As opportunities close, transfer accounts to Regional Engineering Manager or International Regional Engineering Managers when appropriate
    • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest
  • Opportunity Management created from the incoming leads and nurtured accounts
    • Contacting Monthly to keep the opportunity progressing
    • Updating opportunity information, potential and close date as appropriate

 

  • Small Revenue and Distributor Account Nurturing
    • Nurture small revenue accounts < $20K/Year Sales to become larger

 

  • Regional Engineering Managers Support
    • Identify prospects for account outreach projects
    • Assist Regional Engineering Managers to keep key projects moving forward
    • Identify and prioritize what needs support, keeping coordinated with Sales Ops, Product Management and Support Engineers, and Mktg.
    • Generate appropriate quote & sample requests through Nye’s CRM system – as needed for certain situations – when quoting is beyond customer service standard practice of support for travelling Regional Engineering Managers.
  • Collaboration with Market Development
    • Work with Marketing on new product/project launches and cross-selling campaigns
    • “Advanced” Market and Lead Development
    • Work with the Marketing Group to research and develop customer, market and product-based summaries for strategic planning for individuals both within and outside of the Business Development Department

 

Qualifications we are looking for:

  • BA/BS degree, preferably in technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of proven Inside Technical Sales experience
  • Strong phone presence and experience making numerous calls per day
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience working with Microsoft CRM or similar, and Microsoft Office
  • Engineering background preferred
