Salary:
FUCHS offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000 per year, but actual salary will vary depending upon a new hire’s experience and qualifications as well as internal equity.
Your Responsibilities:
We are seeking a dynamic and technically adept Field Service Engineer to join our Wind team. This role, reporting to the Sr. Director - Specialty First Fill, requires a blend of technical aptitude, curiosity to uncover customer problems, along with strong organizational and project management skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving new business development while managing existing accounts, providing technical solutions to our clients, and having accomplished extensive technical field trials.
Field Service Engineer:
- Develops clear customer strategies working closely with the Business Development Manager and Global Segment Leader.
- Provide technical expertise and support to clients regarding lubricant applications in wind turbines.
- Conduct and oversee extensive technical field trials to validate product performance and suitability.
- Develop and present technical solutions tailored to client requirements.
- Operate in a global network to support local Key Account Managers and establish excellent contacts with key accounts.
- Coordinate the business of key accounts globally, acting as an interface between the key account and internal stakeholders (Product Management, R&D, Administration, Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, Logistics, and Marketing).
- Spend significant time visiting customers, including Wind sites, following up on current projects, supporting trials and searching for new opportunities.
- Establish new business through referrals and identifying potential future customers via planned and organized sales calls.
Customer Engagement:
- Represent the company in regional industry events and tradeshows, collaborating with Marketing and other internal stakeholders to prepare for such events.
- Conduct onsite product training for clients through product presentations, hands-on interactions, and utilizing available product management team and field application engineers.
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of key accounts' worldwide activities, product portfolio, and applications.
- Represent customer interests towards the company and vice versa.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field desired. (Chemistry, Engineering, etc.); MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in lubrication and/or Wind industry
- Technical knowledge of a Wind Turbine and its components as well as relevant applications, knowledge of lubricants/specialty chemicals is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to climb wind towers.
- Proven experience in the wind energy sector, particularly with OEMs.
- Experience with technical field trials and the ability to provide technical solutions to clients.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Strong consultative selling abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic technical vision and planning capabilities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to oversee multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
- Team spirit and ability to work in international teams.
- Proficiency in MS-Office applications and CRM (Salesforce desired).
- Ability to travel frequently on short notice.
Travel: Up to 50% travel, primarily within the U.S.
