Supply Chain Management

In the food industry, in vehicles and in medical technology - lubricants accompany us through everyday life. FUCHS manufactures more than 10,000 products for more than 100,000 customers - a daily challenge for a sophisticated supply chain. With more than 30 production sites and our global purchasing organization, we bundle our technological competencies in the area of supply chain management.

In the area of supply chain management, the focus is on the employees - whether in the production process, logistics or in the planning of processes and technologies. International projects, job rotation and a wide range of tasks are just as important as daily safety at work. With the credo "Better every day", employees in Supply Chain Management identify and create value for customers and the company. It is not unusual for families to have been working for us for several generations and to appreciate the family-like environment of our Group.

In addition to regular production, Supply Chain Management includes investment and production planning, global purchasing, operation research and various technical areas. Mixing lubricants, greases and cleaning fluids in the right proportions, boiling them, refilling them and ultimately filling them into the most varied containers for our customers - this task is at the heart of our production. The complex production process must be constantly monitored and controlled. At the same time, our global purchasing department ensures the supply of raw materials, negotiates purchasing conditions and defines key suppliers.

Operation Research deals with the long-term development of our production and purchasing network. This defines which products are manufactured at which locations and how the supply chain to the customer can be optimized with regards to environmental and cost aspects.

The production of lubricants is not only about accompanying automated processes. Independence, but also attention and reliability, is just as important when it comes to mixing recipes in production as the ability to make decisions and the speed of reaction in the event of issues. Mathematical, physical and chemical knowledge helps to determine the mass and volume ratios of individual substances in mixtures and to measure substance sizes. You can also score points with practical experience from the respective field of work, for example with experience in purchasing, managing complex projects or production planning.
